On another note, why didn't they just break the passenger window? Would seem easier and faster than getting out the jaws of life.

Does your5 car have the side impact door bars (reinforcements)? If so, it sure slook they they saved your tail. Say what you will, but the safetry nuts sometimes get it right!

Speedy recovery, Gemini. Was anybody else just a wee bit puzzled as to why the driver's air bag did not deploy? I know there is a g-sensor which is supposed to recognize not to deploy the bag when the car is rear-ended. This looks like predominantly a very severe broadside collision, and I would have expected the bag to go off. It might even have saved Gemini from his minor head injuries.

Good point, Joe. I could be wrong, but I think the impact sensor for triggering the airbags is in the front bumper. If so, that'd explain it.
