If you had money to get a "beater" to slosh around in bad weather that's at the price of an RS4, it'd be cool. But if it's your only car... why the hell would you want a station wagon that goes fast? Cuz it goes fast?! Gross looking.

H2000: Practice, practice, practice. Sev gets low 5s on the same car, yo! You need to hand your S4 friend his ass!

I don't know about the S2000 pulling on S4 at speeds. I mean S4 are governed at 143 MPH for America but without the governor they will go all they way upto 170 MPH.
Besides there were early rumors that Euro engines and American engines had same HP although the AoA markets the S4 in America as having only 250 HP.
I've seen dyno charts that show the car as having 250lb*ft of torque at the wheels rather than the advertised torque of 258lb*ft at the crank.

Bottom line. If you find a S4 driver who's willing to race you, he or she has the chip and you will get embarrased, unless of course it has tiptronic.

SpaceNeedle... yes, precisely because it CAN go fast and it's THAT ugly!!! That would be the whole point!

That being said since the RS4 isn't to be sold over here... all I can look forward to is the e46 M3.

A fast, ugly car... just where I want my hard-earned money to be. No, sorry.

But the new M3... nice. For the people who got the BMW 330Ci... too bad! Didn't try hard enough!

So I guess the S4 beats the S2000. Don't race S4s if you have a problem with getting beat. Right or wrong?

Yes, don't race S4 on the street. But in track or at auto-x, S4 are too softly sprung and nose heavy to beat us.

BTW I love the way that Speedvision Modified S4/RS4 Sedans look. Too bad Audi doesn't sell RS4 in sedan forms.

But even in Avant form I think that the RS4 would complement S2000 nicely. It has the practicality of a wagon plus the AWD, great power and nice handling. It will be the ultimate alternative to SUV and minivan. With that thought, I think my next car will probably be a S4 Avant.

S2000 and S4 would be very even on atrack. Can't say where which one would be quicker, but Nurburgring lap-time sprove this:

To me, the S4 is too soft, quiet. It has poor steering feel compared to Porsche or BMW. Great in all weather and no oversteer issues, easy for anyone to drive fast. Stealthy for fast highway driving. For a few hundred bucks you can massively increase power and torque. Even stock they have lots of low end. Very different from an S2K New A4 version means changes soon.

I ran against an S4 a couple of weeks ago.
We were on the highway, already at speed.
He was lowered, rims, and an HKS(Klasse) exhaust out the back. Don't know what else, but I could hear the hiss from the turbos.

Well, anyway, we slowed down a little, to about 70mph, and hit it.
I initially jumped to about a half a car, and stayed like that for a few seconds, but I could feel him inching up on me.
He did start to pass me, very gently, but he was going by me (this was somewhere at the top of fourth).

He got about a half a car on me, and we hit traffic. That was it.

So, he was definitely faster. I guess I hit it a second before he did, that would account for me jumping ahead. But he slowly inched up on me and passed.

I was happy though. Didn't do too bad.
Oh, my car is stock, other than an Injen intake that I am probably losing power with.

A buddy of mine at work has an S4 and it's pretty quick (I drove it). Last week, there was a casual street race between two of my company's sites (about 2 miles) so I egged on my S4 buddy and another co-worker who just got a 330i. The S4 was very quick, but he had a little lag getting the turbos spooled up so I got a decent jump. He was able to catch up, but never got by me.

The RS4 Avant will kick the crap out of many, many cars, including the S2K. Think about it: 380+ HP.... Check the video of Tiff Needell running one from www.taner.net/movies I love the part where he says the brake rotors on the RS4 are the same size as the wheels on a Ford Focus. 0-60 time is better than a 996-series 911.

You guys have got some balls. Great races! That modded S4 must've been chipped. Ain't no way a dude's gonna add all that stuff and forget the chip that boosts power to like 300+hp and torque. So it is pretty tight... maybe the stock S2000 will pull at speed. Sev, go race an S4!

S2000... can't wait to get mine. If the S2000 is equal to the M3, then it should pull on the S4 since it does 0-60mph in 5.9. Maybe my thinking's too simple here. Correct me if I am wrong.
