Default S2000 Type R?

I was just wondering why Honda didnt make a Honda S2000 Type R?
They made previous models Type R's (NSX, Integra, Civic, Prelude)

so why did they skip the S2000?
has anyone thought about this or has an answer?

They never made a Type R for the Prelude either.

One reason I believe is that it is a convertible so it can't be taken to track right out of the box. Some tracks and clubs have regulations for convertible. It is more of a rare car, so it is pretty useless to have different versions of it. Perhaps they should have done type R like modifications or options. For example no a/c, no sound deading, maybe even coupe.

and if the problem was convertible they could upgrade to hardtop
as well as an upgrade in performance like the other Type R models...

the US only Japan and Europe..

If you're referring to this, it's fake. There is no Prelude Type-R; anywhere in the world.

The S2000 will never have a Type R version due to the fact that it is a roadster.

What does being a roadster have to do with the R badge? Remember the Del Sol Si-R?
