Will the insurance cover the cost of redoing the dip?

Lol thanks for the support guys.
Ya we were really blessed that she came back in one piece. Just needs a good bath and some minor parts.
My wifi and I were really surprised that they didn't try to part anything out. But we do believe that they had originally no intention of stealing any vehicle, they only stole her because they found the keys to her and took her for a joy ride. We were also surprised that they took the effort to actually peel the Plasti Dip. But who knows? We blew the situation up on Facebook, and our friends, family, and the car community blew it up even more and really help us out.

As far as insurance covering the dip, I don't believe they will because I didn't notify they before of the "modification". We car currently with Geico and from the looks of it, I probably won't end up filing a claim.

So other than the fluid oil changes and compression test, is there anything else that you guys would recommend doing/checking out?

Thanks again!

Congrats on the good news. See what you can do about claiming the plasti dip in the coverage. I had a vinyl wrapped trunk covered by insurance recently. It's not always necessary to specifically claim every upgrade to the car to get coverage for it.

Hmm alright I'll have to ask them then, because Lord knows that I can't shell out $600+ for another one.

Most likely the theifs were in their teenage years. They probably just wanted to take the car out for a joy ride. They probably took off the plastic dip because they assumed that you reported a stolen blue s2000; since they stripped the car back down to its orginial color perhaps it would fly under the radar of local law enforcement. They probably didn't know Joe to part the car out. Maybe just some kids being delinquents

What ever the case, I'm thankful that the Lord brought her back into my arms with "minor" damage. I say minor because I'm not sure if there is any mechanical damage. They could have done more.

But man I was looking at OEM weather strip replacements, man they run $45-$60 depending on where you get them plus shipping, I was hoping to replace all 6. But 300$+ is a lot of money on top of doing everything else... Does anyone have suggestions on where to possibly get them cheaper by any chance? Also I did search the forum for JDM Clear Side Markers, I'm having a difficult time locating a place to buy a set, anyone have suggestions for that as well?

Thanks

Get the clear CR side markers from your Honda dealer.

Glad to hear that they were able to find it and it's in one piece. I would suggest changing all of the fluids and get a compression test done.

BTW, I believe your car is silverstone at least looking at the pictures. Sebring is a lot lighter.

Great news man, other people aren't so lucky! My brother had his Silvia stolen about 150 metres from the local police station

They did you a favor by removing the plasti-dip.

Glad you got your car back.

Alaska is weird. Beautiful and all but the shit I see on TV and this story, just weird.
