Default Is the S2000 still generally expensive to insure?

I haven't owned an S2000 in eight years and I've been looking into them more seriously recently. I understand that the car is a roadster and that can't mean cheap car insurance. However the car I'd be buying would be 10 years old. I'm 28 and I have a very clean record. Just wondering if you all feel that this car is still expensive to insure, especially compared to your other vehicles if you have others. Thanks if you can respond.

I'm 27 living in Central NJ with a clean driving record. It's $800 for six months with Progressive on my '08. That's pretty bad, right? At least I'm not 25 anymore. That bracket was murder.

My S2000 is more expensive to insure than the other 2 cars on my policy that are newer. That said, I pay about $1200 a year for all three.

I'm 27 my ap1 and 2013 pathfinder sl are 1200 a year both full coverage with high rates and 500 deductible. But I live in Virginia and have a clean record. Region is very influential. When I lived in Chicago my deductible was 250 but lower coverage and it was 650 a year. Shop around smartly. With all state currently

Not for me. 26, live in a very high cost of living area, no tickets, one not at fault accident. 80$ a month gets me liability on my civic and full coverage on my s with a 500$ deductible, through geico. thankfully they have yet to raise the premium, unlike Esurance, which kept raising it every renewal cycle (even before the accident)

Age & driving record mostly determines the cost of ins.

My Vette & S2k ins are within $5 of each other.

As always with insurance threads -- get quotes. There are a lot of variables at play. Expensive is subjective as well.

It costs us less to insure our S2000 versus our RX 400h and Boxster S.

I spent 2-3 hours getting quotes from everybody I could, and there are crazy differences so you should definitely shop around. I ended up paying $60/month for 300/100 full coverage from geico. I had quotes from other major insurance companies for double or even triple that much.

You can get the quotes pretty fast online from pretty much everybody. Next time I have to shop around I will use a fake phone number though, I was getting calls from all of them for a few weeks afterwards.
