The S2000 should've come with these kind of gauges

As others have stated, I prefer the S2k cluster over the one posted. It is simple and does the job. Perhaps yours is broken because mine does a fine job of telling me how fast I am going. Also as others have stated, I wish we had an oil pressure gauge. Now something I do think would be very cool to have is the heads up display like the new vettes have. I had always thought this was kind of a silly feature, but after driving my friends C6 vette around for a day I found myself using it the majority of the time. Very nice as it have your speed and tach right in front of you without ever having to look down.

Not sure what year this car is but its the first pic I found for anyone who doesnt know what I am talking about.

I prefer stock, however I do see the OP's point about acceleration. The difference is that on our "cluster" our acceleration is only seen through the change of the number. This number refreshes at the same rate no matter how fast you are accelerating so unless you are looking closely at the numbers and doing some mental math you can't get a feel for how fast (comparatively) you are accelerating. With an analog speedo you don't have to look directly at it to get a sense of how fast you are accelerating. As far as our tach is concerned, it makes no different being digital or analog since our readout is a digital representation of an analog display, in other words we don't have a numerical readout like our speedo for the tach (Imagine that one, having to watch a number for the rpms!!).

The digital speedo is nice IMO because you don't have to do any calculations- with an analog gauge your brain has to see the needle and what it points to in order to calculate the speed. With the S2K style- you look and see exactly the speed you are travelling without any thinking. I did like my Boxster gauges as there was both an analog and digital gauge for speed with a big analog tach in the center but I always found myself looking at the digital speedo as it was instant info for me. I assume this is the reasoning for using digital in the S2K in the first place...

they both take time to get used to, and once you're set with one its odd to drive the other... i do prefer the digital tach tho.

I like the gauges I have now, people see it at night or day, and give me compliments, and then they ask "what's that red button", I say "is an EJECT button for anoying passengers"......

for the people who are complaining about an oil pressure gauge, if its that important to you, why dont you just get an autometer gauge? if youre worried about the "clean" look, you can mount it on your radio door...not that big of a deal.

back on topic: i prefer the s2000 cluster over any analog unit; i dont need to see a needle going vertical to show me how fast im going just the mph/rpms. HOWEVER, i do wish that instead of the redline light blinking 3 times before you hit fuel cut, it would just hit fuel cut the second you reach redline. that would make it much easier to judge when to shift (when shifting at redline)

i would take this car with analogue guages any day...perhaps the dash outta the NSX? As is I am used to it and it works, well done Honda. I would like an aftermarket choice or to know that some other honda dash fits our cars...

I've got the guage and pod. But found out that, if I install it, I'll void the engine warranty.

So it would be nice if it came with one.

Now, if someone knows a way to hook it up without voiding my warranty, I'll be right on it.

Oh, and if you want a HUD, you could always get something like this.
