S2000 Seats and Comfort - questions
Hi Folks,
I'm a furriner here as i don't own an s2000 and have no plans to, mainly due to funds ...
However i do own a honda Hrv VTEC and i've just been given the nod on a pair of s2000 seats. I dislike the HRV seats as they lack lateral support and are too soft. I drive the HRV pretty hard and it would be nice to sit in something that stops you sliding around.
Question is this:
How do you find the s2000 seats over long distance driving, thigh support, lumbar support .... overall comfort etc. Could really do with your input here as i don't want to go from one uncomfortable seat to another
There will be those of you who wonder why on earth someone would fit sports seats to a soft roader, well i drive in a fairly laid back position most of the time .. one of the nice things about having shortish legs and a tall body. The HRV seats are not designed to be used in this position.
Anyway i'll get lost and stop rambling, any advice you can give, negative or positive will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Patrick

You'll definitely get the lateral support you want.
I find that the S2000 seats have too much lumbar support, but I have a much straighter posture than most people. My solution was to stick a small folded towel between the seat cushion and the seat in the mid back area, which helped a lot. It was pretty easy to do because the back cushion is open at the sides.
My seat area gets a little sore on long drives, but that's partly because I'm skinny there - plus my seat back is fully vertical because I have long legs and a short back. This might not be a problem for you.

I have an '04 and I've taken several rides between Chicago and New York and between Chicago and Lewiston, Maine (20 hours 1 way) and I love the S2000 seats. They keep you in position regardless of what you or the car happen to be doing and they are very comfortable for me.
To put this in perspective, I am 5'7" tall with a 29" inseam and, being a marathon runner, I weigh about 145-150 pounds.

Long trips in the "S" really start to wear on my back after about 8 or so hours. I usually have to bring some type of pillow for support.
The seats are great for daily driving and keep nice and snug in the car

The lateral support is excellent however I find the lack of lumbar support ot be frustrating. My RSX seats have the adjustable lumbar support which is very nice on long trips.

The seats hurt my back and tailbone for the first 4 months I had the car, but my body adjusted to it.
About a year ago I drove from Southern California to Chicago in 4 days, I had zero problems driving 10 hours a day.
Very comfy seats after break in.
