Does the 100k mile engine warranty apply to Europe? Does Mazda have a reasonable dealer network with trained and experienced rotary techs in Greece? Having vacationed in Greece before I would place a large part of the decision making process questioning the cars reliability and the 'what if it breaks down in no mans land' what would I do, how much would it cost, and how long would it likely take.
On the other hand, I was astounded by the volume of roadside memorials to those who perished along the fast, challenging, and rugged roads. Mazda's chassis tune of the RX-8 and Miata would perhaps be more forgiving during an 'Oh S#it' moment .. Which can be priceless.

RX-8 Reventon
I originally was going to get a 2004 Mazda RX-8 in beautiful British Racing Green (forgot the official name, but its easily the best color for the car) but it was an automatic and the dealership wouldn't let me have it...long story.
I love rotary engines andone day would love to own an RX-7 Spirit R Type A, but the RX-8 is a beautifully designed car.

Drove my neighbors RX8, i didnt even want to leave the neighborhood, he drove my S, asked if he can drive it around more(with me of-course) i said noway then he said he will buy me a full tank of gas, fine. Within a week sold the RX8 and bought a BB Ap1 and crashed it.

I actually just traded in my S2000 for a RX-8. Both drive very similar, and offer similar performance. The RX-8 is a better daily driver in my opinion. Please note, I am not saing that the S2000 is a bad daily driver, just the RX-8 is a better one - it has the benefit of a backseat, a larger trunk, smoother ride (gotta love how smooth rotary engines are), and is 10 times quieter on the interstate at 70+mph. Performance wise the S2000 has the edge, but I doubt this woud be noticible off the track. I do miss the top down driving of the S2000, and the better MPG. All in all either is a great choice, and if it wasn't for my daughter being born I would still be driving the S2000. However, I am very happy with the RX-8, and don't regret it all.

^^ Aside from the top and number of seats both cars are very similar. Definitely not a senseless discussion. Maybe senseless in the fact that they are still being compared after years of prior comparison.
