S2000 rolling-start acceleration numbers?

... the front of the car would rise an inch or more when I hit VTEC at WOT. If there is not a significant increase in acceleration at 6,000 RPM, what causes the front of the car to lift?
Looking at the F20c torque curve, the ~18% increase/jump in torque happens between 5000 and 6,500rpm. We have a relatively steep torque increase in this rev-range (even though it's 'only' ~18% increase).
According to the figures that I posted before, it'd take just under 3sec to cover this exact rev-range in 3rd gear. So, going by this, for these 3secs one would feel this 'kick' in this rev-range as the torque is constantly incresing right here.
Might not have shown a significant impact on acceleration, but that may be what you're describing?

What myth? Have you read the thread? DavidM asked about relative acceleration, MX5 vs S2000. We looked at WHP and gearing, and concluded that it was close, with a slight edge going to the S2000 due to its more advantageous gearing (made possible by the higher red line). Now DavidM has found acceleration numbers like he wanted, and it shows exactly what we predicted. So where's the myth that got busted?

And for reference here are the same increments (ie. 80 - 120kph) for some other cars from mags ...
Roughly the same gearing (times for 3rd / 4th / 5th / 6th gear) ...
- 350Z = 4.1 / 5.3 / 8.9 / 11.5sec
Now these are not fair comparision as these cars have different gearing. ie. about 15 - 20% shorter gearing:
- new WRX = 4.3 / 5.2 / 7.1sec
- Golf GTi = 4.5 / 5.8 / 7.6 / 9.8sec
About 20% taller gearing:
- e90 M3 = 3.7 / 4.9 / 5.9 / 7.4sec
- 997S = 3.8 / 5.1 / 6.7 / 9.0sec
- V8 Vantage = 4.0 / 5.1 / 6.7 / 9.1sec

Interesting reading everyone. I don't imagine we'll be seeing a comparison like this when the next Mazdaspeed Miata comes out, that will have the 2.3 disi turbo engine in it will we? We are TOAST!!!
