Some may know this and others might not, so I post it to make sure everyone is aware:

The S2000 registry is not maintained or supported by S2KI in any way. It has, over the years, been maintained and updated by various volunteers. Not sure how/what the most recent volunteer is doing with it, but hopefully he'll respond and let us know.

It's a thankless job, whoever chooses to do it. It's one of those things that everyone says they like having, but few are willing to put in the effort to take care of it. And sometimes those who are willing to put in the effort come to find out it's a bigger commitment than they might have realized. I salute those who have even attempted it.

S2K Shawn was the last member that was working on it. I agree that it is a thankless job. How could we get S2KI to maintain it?

^^ I have no idea (but if I had to venture a guess, I'd say finding a way to make it a financial benefit to them to take on the extra work could be helpful). You might try posting about it in the Site Info section.

How are moderators compensated for their time? Maybe S2KI could create a moderator-type position whose sole duty is to maintain the registry?

Moderators are not compensated.

The registry in its current format is not housed on S2ki resources and no one officially "owns" it. Someone simply started collecting info one day that people voluntarily contributed. Then one day that person stopped...as is the right of any volunteer.

Any suggestions on how to improve the website (which includes suggestions that s2ki should take possession of the data set we are calling the registry and officially request a volunteer to regularly maintain it) should go in the Site Info section of the forum. People with ability to do something about the suggestion will see the thread if you post it there.
