I just read that the the VIN numbers on their own dont mean anything. The year of manufacture needs to match as well because every production year started the VIN numbers from scratch.
Yes I sometimes visit carsmalta.com as Schumiii too Unfortunately there is not much advice that I can get from there on our S.
Whilst we are it: What engine oil do use for your S2K? I cannot find the Honda reccomended 10w30 oil in Malta and was told that noone imports that viscosity. Is this true? I always end up buying the readily available 5w30 oil then mix in a litre of 10w40 to thicken it up abit coz the 5w30 gets consumed way too quickly in summer.

i am currently using FUCHS Supersyn 5-40.
Next time i'm planning to switch to Fuchs RACE Pro-S. This is a Racing oil and is supposed to protect the engine much better, especially at high revs.
as far as i know it is available in a lot of viscosities, but last time i checked they only had 5-40 as well.
I dont really like mixing oils .. I would prefer to use 5-40 straight away.
I dont have high oil consumption either. maybe 1 - 2 litres per 5,000 kilometres.
Always make sure to replace the filter with an ORIGINAL one on every oil change. ALL the non-original ones are prone to get loose. I know of 3 ppl whose oil filters got loose in the s2000. I use MAHLE filters in every car i service, except the S. she gets original filter only.
PS: even honda themselves use 5w40 oil, as recommended by honda, or so they claim.
