S2000 rear view mirror wobble
Hello everyone, my first post on this forum. I have an issue with my own rear view mirror, it doesn't wobble while driving but if I adjust it, the mirror comes off. The silver piece is still attached to the windshield but the arm and mirror comes off. I've researched how to take it apart and put it back together, I have done it and made sure everything looks good, I tightened it, out it back on, pushed up hard to make sure it's in place, I then tightened it pretty tight. When I adjust it, it still wobbles and will eventually pop off. Not sure what else to do so I'm asking for help because it is really annoying. I thought about replacing it but I don't like any other mirrors out there, also I can't get the spoon glass replacement if my mirror still doesn't stay in place. Anyone able to help me out?

I'm not sure lol, they could have replaced it before I bought it but it seems the be the same as oem. Plus the metal piece that is attached to the window doesn't come off. Also when I say the arm wobbles/wiggles off, it isn't the piece that sticks to the window. The part that slides into it seems to not go all the way on, even when I push it up and tighten it down, it just slides back down a little and let's it move.

Alright I appreciate it, that's what I was thinking it was to be honest. Any other mirror recommendations before I spend 100 bucks on an oem mirror? Nothing crazy expensive and not one that needs to be wired in lol because personally I think the visibility with the oem mirror kinda sucks. Mine might have been Installed a bit too high on the windshield by the previous owner though, the mirror sits less than a half inch away from the overhead lights and I barely see out the rear window.

I'll add that the mechanism to tighten mirror is rather funky, and can be difficult to get in place properly.
I suggest locating a mirror button (silver windshield piece) that you can practice attaching mirror to off the car, so you can see how its supposed to work.

I'll give it a shot, I messed with it for 30 minutes though and tried different tension and different positions, tried everything I could think of and it always slid off. I'll try again later but it just doesn't seem to stay in place. I can't really get it to slide all the way on, even if it's loose.

I dont think it is the way you are installing. The mechanism wears out. I tried messing with mine to make it stop but it just kept getting worse. Heard plenty of others with the same issue. I kept messing with mine to see if I could get it to tighten up better but it still wobbled and eventually that wobbling popped the metal tab off the windshield so I had a rear view mirror fall and end up on the dash mid run at nationals one year
I am not up to date on other options as I just bought the OEM one.
A lot of aftermarket glass has the mirror area marked in the wrong spot. So changes are that is why yours is mounted up higher like that if the previous owner had the windshield replaced.

If you're going to replace your mirror, you may want to consider an upgrade. I had the button removed from my windshield and replaced it with a standard button. Then I installed an auto-dimming mirror with a compass and outside thermometer. It works great.
