Not quite mbilderback. Your calculation asumes linear acceleration whereas we all know that acceleration tails off the faster you go due to gearing, aerodynamics etc..

 

Ckcrigger: you said clutch out quick - do you sidestep or just lift leg quickly?

 

True, this is assuming linear acceleration, but due to the fact that I'm not sure even the gearheads here can give us a solid acceleration curve equation, we're just going to have to stick with linear.

And don't forget, the flux capacitor is pretty impressive, I haven't seen anyone with it installed, so it may be linear.

i've heard it range from 5.1 to 6.0. it depends on the driver, launch, and possible bias of the driver/magazine. imo, its not a practical number, cuz it assumes that the car will always be launched in a straight line. most sites have a faster 0-60 in the 350z, but i still would like to get a s2000

 

I seem to remember one of the magazines last year had an '03 going 0-60 in 5.3 @ 13.8 @ 100.5 MPH in the quarter.

 

Just imagine how fast the 0-60 time would be if the S had gull-wing doors and mr. fusion
