I got the one I wanted. I hope everyone that buys one of the comparison cars is as happy with their car as I am with mine. There are plenty of great cars out there.

I CAN tell you this... NONE of those cars are as FUN to DRIVE as the S2000! Hands down!

Isn't that what it comes down to? Driver enjoyment. Give me total sport.

Unlike most cars that compromise on this, that and the other to appease the largest percentage of potential buyers, Honda knew from the get go that the S2000 was truly unique. If it wasn't they probably would have geared up for 20,000 plus yearly production run. There are only a select few of us out there that are willing to put up with a buzzing hyper active 4 banger that makes F1 sounds all the way to 9k rpms. When I say "put up with" I mean that in a positive way. Most people, when they go shopping for a "sports car" are really shopping for a comfy G.T. not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's ignorant to criticize the S2000 for being what it is. It's exactly what Honda designed it to be. A no frills

Here's how I break it down:

those who don't get it : engine is too noisy, almost frantic.
Us: engine sounds like it was made for those who if given a second lease on life, would begin plotting their F1 careers at age six.
those who don't get it: small luggage space, not very practical
Us: just enough luggage space for a quick trip to Barnes and Noble for EVO and Racer magazines.
those who don't get it: Interior room is tight and short on luxury. No glovebox.
Us: We prefer to be hugged by our Recaros, girlfriends and mothers in that order. Luxury items add weight. We don't like weight. As for the lack of a glovebox, there is plenty of room for our girl's string bikini in the secret compartment.
those who don't get it: You have to rev the engine to get any torque.
Us: We'd rather own a P-51 Mustang than a 747.
those who don't get it: the handling is stiff.
Us: When we're pushing the car at 9,000 rpms, tucked into our tight racing seats with the engine screaming like a banshee and heads are pulling Linda Blair to see "what the hell is that?" ...well baby, it ain't the handling that's stiff.

Funny you should say this, as that was my first thought as well

In fact, when my son goes off to college in a couple of years I may purchase a G35 coupe as a stablemate to my beloved S

Depends what may come out between now and them but if it was going down tomorrow.....

Smart Money Magazine....the name says it all LOL

I drove 4 of the cars on the list (S2, TT, 350Z, G35), I will say S2000 is the best outta the 4(never drove the Z4), a lot of T.O members know that I was gonna get a 350Z earlier but after driving both cars, I know I will want the S2000 without a doubt.
