"The S2000 is not for everyone"

what's controversial about this? so far anyway...
BTW, zoomzoom, if you get the S, do a driver's ed event with your local SCCA chapter. Or at least an autoX. The DE would be more beneficial. Either will teach you about what happens with a RWD car with a very, very, delicate balance point. Also, Neither will leave you in a twisted wreck or wrapped around something solid.

You can go on and on for the list, and it might never ended.
S is one of those thing that you either hate it, or love it, get it, or don't get it.
Go meet one, up-close and personal, if haven't done so. You'll understand much better than asking million questions of how it'll makes you feel.

The S was my first RWD car and I don't think it's such a big deal. Yeah, it's different, but you shouldn't go scaring people away and make them believe there is something so different about a RWD car that someone wouldn't be able to handle it. Most people who are interested in the S2K are car enthusiasts to begin with, so you have to respect the fact that they probably understand the physics of driving.
ZoomZoomS2- this is my daily driver, but I plan on putting on some nice snow tires in December.
To answer the original question, there are several obvious reasons for not getting this car which have been mentioned above. All I can say is test drive the car first. Then you will find out if the leg room, interior, engine noise, amenities, etc, etc. fit your lifestyle.

It's not for people who like attention. It's been out four years now, but people still don't know what it is. I get questions at least once a week, and I only drive it on the weekends. If you don't want people admiring and asking questions about your car, this car isn't for you.

Thanks for your replies and advice. I've wanted an S2000 since the first day I laid eyes on it. 4 years later, I have the means to actually get one. So, I'll definately do more research on the S2K and RWD in general. I could care less about the amount of space and options it has. In fact, I love small cars, especially 2 seaters. Noise isn't a problem and I don't mind if it doesn't ride like a Caddie. I'm currently driving a 92 Celica GT hatchback, so I'm used to the small car, rough ride thing.
Honda606 - You mentioned VTEC kicking in when going around a turn. At what point does VTEC kick in? I thought it was around 6000 rpm?

The car isn't for anyone that complains that
1) No power seat
2) There isn't enough torque
3) I can't fit enough in the trunk
4) Compares it constantly to their old Miata
As for the part about your first RWD car, it was my first. All I've had are Hondas, why would I want to drive anything else? I can't get an NSX just yet.
