Default "The S2000 is not for everyone"

I have often read the comment on this board that "the S2K is not for everyone." Then, the thought is elaborated: "but for those who want this kind of car, it is perfect." My question is, for whom is the S2000 not intended?

May I ask that the obvious answers be avoided like, "the S2K is not intended for those who want to carry a lot of cargo" or " the S2000 is not meant for those who want to carry five passengers."

But for those who want a sports car, for whom is the S2K not intended? What are the subtle things that might alienate the wrong kind of customer about the S2K?

The S is not intended for:
1)Someone who intends to drive it year round where it snows, unless they intend to purchase four high-quality snow tires
2)Someone who doesn't love to shift gears
3)Someone who likes a cushy, smooth-riding car that doesn't communicate the road to the driver
4)Someone who finds all those mysterious pieces under the hood confusing
4)Anyone who is not familiar with a rear-drive car!

I'm sure there's more, but this is just what I came up with quickly.

I would say that the S (and any other RWD roadster for that matter) is not intended for someone who:

1. hasn't driven RWD before

2. is new to driving

3. thinks that adding mods is a good way to make the car faster

4. live in a climate where you can't take advantage of the handling

5. doesn't understand anything about tires (b/c they will not understand why to put quality rubber on a car)

6. will buy it to beat other marques on the street

7. will not put the top down when feasible and appropriate

I'm new here and am seriously thinking about getting a used 2002 S2000 in the Spring of 04. However, I've never driven a RWD car before, so my question is: Why wouldn't I be able to drive the S2k? Ya gotta learn sometime right? I'm not gonna drive too crazy and it would be my daily driver for 7-8 months out of the year.

The S2000 is not for those that do not enjoy driving go karts.

The S2000 is not for those that want all the luxury interior crap.

The S2000 is not for those, IMO, that want to make this their first RWD car.

(Edit) ZoomZoomS2...believe it or not I answered without reading the other replies in this post only because I like to answer Puple Haze's numerous posts. The reason I say this shouldn't be someone's first RWD vehicle is because of
1) VTEC
2) The weight of the car
3) the fact that a RWD car handles much more delicately than a FWD.

If you want my honest opinion...a 240SX, Mustang, or F-body would probably be they way to go with learning a RWD car. You can learn with the S2000 but you can get yourself in to some real trouble if VTEC kicks in while you are going around a turn...especially if the road has moisture on it. Do a search and you will see what I'm talking about. Why do you think so many other people say not to learn RWD with a high powered vehicle? Kind of the same reason you don't start riding a 600SS as your first motorcycle.)

What's wrong with it as a RWD car? The last RWD performance car I owned was about 9 years before the S. After that I had fwd's except for a diesel Mercedes.
I agree with these plus
1) Someone that wants a lot of TORQUE
2) Someone that wants a BMW or the like

2)Someone who doesn't love to shift gears
3)Someone who likes a cushy, smooth-riding car that doesn't communicate the road to the driver

1)Someone who just wants a cute convertible or likes the s only because it's a convertible
2)someone who want's a convertible that's very quiet with the top up
3)someone that wants a street dragster
