[B]Where was it published that the s2000 was a 5000 unit 2 yr limited production run? If Honda did make this statement then is it their responsibility to correct misinformation or issue a production revision?

I just add to the list of people who were told "5,000 / year for 2 years" by the dealership. I traded in my 98 Accord Coupe V6 because they mass-produced them the 2nd year after having one year of low production. I paid over MSRP because I thought the car would be rare, I'd love to get my $XK over MSRP back.

Steve2K,

No one should be denying your right to complain, it's just that we don't want you or anyone else to waste good money with a legal challenge that has a snowball's chance in hell of getting anywhere.

But...it won't cost me a penny to have answered a few questions by an attorney filing a suit with his own dime in order to, from what I gathered, make a point publicly - in general about the ethical culpability of dealers and their "overseers" and in specific about the dealer who sold him his car - hey, this dude ICQ'd me the other night about this and said he found my info here at S2KI...wonder why he isn't piping up...preserving his position? Have I pissed him off by mentioning this, or am I giving him ammo? Just curious about the in's and out's...

...by the way, I bought my car for $2,000.00 over sticker, BUT was given $2500.00 over book (and over ANY other dealer's offer) on my trade-in...in my book that is a net of $500 under sticker no matter HOW the dealer writes it up - so I am not complaining about anything other than phony hype for a car that is so sensational that the quality of the car alone should have justified the hype without all the phony production numbers!

yes, I think definitely is the dealers that lie about the limit-production and year, I never heard Honda said that S2000 will bo only made 2 years before.

the same thing happen to Toyota, that most dealers said the MR2 Spider is a limit production model.

Are class action suits like this handled by juries, if neither side agrees to a settlement?

I was DEFINATELY defrauded!! I was specifically told production was limited to '00 and '01 and that only 5000 would be produced each year. The dealer is STILL using the "limited production" scam on '02 models!!!

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I believe that if you can't get it honestly, you should find something different to do. I also believe that people who engage in this type of deceit are engaged in crime. Its fraud, plain and simple! They should be punished and their victims compensated!
