S2000 Losing Favor?

Not sure if this was mentioned... But keep in mind the objective of that 8-car Shootout by R&T was to find the best "true and pure" sport's car. Acceleration numbers and luxury were left behind.
Edit: But DAMN I love my car!!!!

surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet (or I didn't see it here) -- in the current issue of Car & Driver - there is a review of the new Mustang Convertible - in that revie wthe S2000 is listed as the benchmark of chassis stiffness for open top cars.
IMHO -Not too shabby for 5 year old that is 'losing favor?'

Heh-heh- what's funny is that Honda ripped off a '60s Lotus design to achieve that chassis stiffness.

This will be hard for some of you to take, but you need to hear it: You sound like the whiny bitches over on the Miata forum. "Mazda (Honda) doesn't love me." "Why don't they spend more time advertising on the Miata (S2000)?" "They've let the Miata (S2000) become outdated." "Will there be a new one? It better true to the old one." But I thought the old one was outdated. You bought your car. You made an excellent choice. Be happy. I learned this lesson the hard/expensive way.

The truth is, Honda probably cares a whole lot more about what will make them MORE MONEY, than going home at night knowing they satisfied a bunch of S2000 owners wanting better accomodations in their cars, more power, better radio, and/or more trunk space.
The Ridgeline is the first truck introduced by Honda in the USA, it's going to get alot of attention, it's going to sell. I personally think it looks great, but that's me, no one else has to like it. And really the Ridgeline is a hate it or love it vehicle.
Point is, Ridgeline is going to make Honda alot more money than the S2000.
In the corporate world it's about money and how much of it you can make, I doubt anyone cares about how they make it.

The S2000 seems to be on the same path as the NSX.
i went to starbucks w/ my gf last night. On our way back to my car, there was a minivan parked next to mine. The guy in the minivan said, "beautiful car... its a "CLASSIC" i love S2000s"
S2000's becoming a classic car in one's opinion... its a great feeling to hear someone complimenting ur car as a classic car
its pretty rare to see 18-19 year olds driving an S2000 compared to evo or subaru... its not just another car on the street
im not saying S2000 is following the foot steps of NSX...
S2000 is walking its own path NEXT TO nsx

It seems as though Honda doesn't even want to promote the S2K anymore. Even though it is such a great car, it seems to have gotten swept under the rug by Honda and the automotive press. Why???
Has anyone else noticed that a lot of honda dealerships don't even have S2000s on the showroom or even have s2000 brochures or pictures? I went to a pretty prominent one here in atlanta and if I didnt know anything about hondas I wouldn't have even known that they make a car like the s2000 based on that dealership experience. And the more I look the more I see dealerships that don't even have them all over the place. Seems like when they first came out just about every dealership had one displayed right out front, or at least locked up in the showroom.
