I think the S2000 will be like the NSX... it will age gracefully - and because it started so far ahead, it will need little tweaking to keep it special...

Anyone remember the original talk about 2 years, 5,000 cars per year only? After that, an Acura would be created with a 6 cyclinder. Still waiting for both.

Actually I think I know where that comes from. When AHM were negotiating with Honda they based their estimates on 2 years, 5,000 per year. Probably even signed a contract for that. It's just forecasting, nothing else. It in no way limits AHM to only 2 years, or even suggests that they might discontinue after 2 years.

Unfortunately, many people with vested interests choose to interpret these sorts of things to suit their needs. To the salesman, "AHM have projected forecasts for the next two years" becomes "Get it now, it's only available for two years" at close time.

A Honda Dealer told me that the S2000 would be switched to an Acura Mark. It sounds plausible

One of these days, people will learn that most dealers and salespeople do not know that much and are speculating as much if not more than anyone else. By comparison, most enthusiasts will know more.
