Is the S2000 hard on your wallet?

Not hard at all.
What is hard is finding enough left over to get the new CLK430 I want to replace my Acura Legend.
Seriously, whether you can afford it depends on your spending habits. Personally I would not have bought it if I didn't have the extra money laying around each month after putting some back for later in life, some for retirement and some for a rainy day. Toys come last. Well, not last...I am single after all.

Hey Aus, I'll take PayPal if CASH is a problem
I say get the car unless your debt load is already really high. I must admit I saved like hell and paid it off when I bought it, but it was worth every penny!...and yes, I fit your description of "middle class".
