S2000 feels weird, need some good advice!
Hey guys,
I recently just got my car back from the shop after getting T-Boned. My rear quarter panel was smashed up, the rim was bent pretty bad and I think the shock needed to be replaced as well. Anyways, After I got it back it appeared as though they did a very good job, but I noticed that when I was on the highway the cars suspension felt a bit stiffer, and every time I went over bumps on the highway the car felt like it wanted to fishtail. This didn't seem normal, So I took the car back to the body shop and asked them to do an alignment. They agreed, free of charge and did a 4-wheel alignment. A few of the guys at the shop, one manager and 2 mechanics both said my rear tires were almost 'slicks' and they were really worn down which might be the cause of me fishtailing. They highly suggested new tires.
Anyways, after I got back from the second alignment, the toe and camber were fixed in the rear and front left. I could instantly notice the car drove better in the city and the overall ride quality felt better. Once I hit the highway again, the fishtailing was definitely minimized, but not totally gone. When I change lanes on the highway or go over moderate bumps the car doesn't fishtail as much as before but it definitely feels like I'm driving on ice. There are moments where the car just feels like its grabbing on its own/losing traction. I'm not sure if this shop is doing a correct alignment or if my tires really are gone. I didn't have this problem before my accident.
Here are some pictures of my tires, sorry about the bad quality:

All tires have about 27,000 miles on them (Potenza S02's). What do you guys think? Time for new tires or does this seem more like a mechanical issue?
Thanks in advance!

You need new tires anyway (badly!)...might as well get some new rubber and see if that resolves the issue.
I hydroplaned and crashed my first S with tires about the same condition as yours. I'll never run on tires that bald again...especially in cold conditions.

OP, look at this thread:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=645876
look at your car:
change your damn tires! lol, even fi you have to get crappy sumitomos or something, change em.
Also, check your tire pressures and what are the alignment specs on the car?
HOw much miles are on your car and when they changed the wrecked side shock, did they use a new one? a used one? did they change the OTHER side?
