S2000 exhaust

Helmholtz resonator
It dramatically reduces drone. Creates a dead zone for resonating frequencies to die off in.
They changed it to an oval shape in '06+. Previously was round. I believe it was just to add some extra clearance.
Any year exhaust will bolt onto any year S, however distance tips stick out from bumper needs to be matched to bumper, or it will look awkward. So ap1 exhaust on ap1 rear bumper, ap2 for ap2.

Will the ap1 exhaust stick out on an ap2 bumper or will it hide underneath?
