Dawn, the daily driving aspect was my main fear of buying the car as well. Needless to say, it is not at all a slouch in traffic. If you shift below 6000, it drives much like a 'normal' car would - not fast, but not at all bad. The clutch and shifter make shifting effortless, I can futz with the radio and shift w/o moving my arm too much. It is also small and nimble, which makes it great for quickly switching lanes and avoiding bad drivers, and whipping around turns at high speeds to make the commute to/from work a little more enjoyable. The brakes aren't too shabby either

Overall, don't listen to what the idiots who write in magazines say. If the S2000 isn't very satisfying to drive in traffic, then no car under $50000 is - of course the magazine guys drive those on a regular basis.

And since you're in Arizona where the sun actually shines once in a while, you get to soak in the sun when waiting for the light to change

Everybody says how easy or not so easy the S2000 is, to drive in traffic. Just imagine if you get a lighter flywheel? Makes me think twice about putting it in....naaaaaaaaa, I wanna go faster quicker! P

I agree. It doesn't matter what you're driving in traffic. Traffic sucks!

Unless you're delivering pizzas or taxi driving with your car for a living (yeah right!), I would say that drivability around town is not an issue. Sitting in traffic for hours will tire any manual transmission driver.ü

Of course taffic ***ks but that's when I can clearly see other drivers drop their jaws. kinda like driving in traffic.

Those articles were written for general public. I wouldn't care what they are saying.

cheers,

Consumer Reports is a great way to rate refrigerators, vacuum cleaners and cars like Malibus or Tauruses. Their tests are written by and for people who want the most reliable product for the money. It is not written for anyone who has any sort of passion for cars, so I personally pay no attention to these except to check for repair frequency. And in the case of the S2000, all that needs to be said is that it is a Honda...expect it to last virtually forever.

The car is perfectly agreeable in all sorts of mundane conditions, and of course we all have mundane conditions in between our opportunities to really enjoy these cars. Even in traffic or while discharging everyday duties (shopping, getting gas) the reactions of and converstions with other folks about our cars keeps it interesting. Get it and stop agonizing about traffic...just enjoy!

Consumer Reports testers were also the blockheads that tried to put a wheelchair in the trunk. Need we say more?

My S2000 is my daily driver, and has been since Feb 2000. 26,000 miles +/- with no problems so far.

What is the difference in driving a ferrari and a rover mini
in normal traffic. The difference is the ferrari will turn more heads. The good thing with the S2000 is that it turns heads without drinking the fuel as its oppositions.
In the UK petrol is very expensive and therfore I try and drive in 6th gear when I get the chance. U can easily cruise in 6th gear at 30MPH. I guess if your use to your 5.0 then hey its education time.
I have learnt heaps from this baby. If you got the cash the only car that is going to trill U is a boxster S. And the difference is questionable but I guess U will own a porshe!

The S2000 has beautifully matched clutch/flywheel/throttle responses. It is therefore easy & smooth to drive in traffic compared to many (especially european transverse engined FWD POS's)

If you are comparing it to some slushbox Canyonero, I'm sorry, but that ain't driving!
