For taking off random crap, I've found liberal spraying of Eagle One Wax As You Dry and rubbing with a cloth works really well. Got road tar and tree sap off my car. I just make sure I give the car a nice wash and a new coat of sealant after I do that.

Start with Goo-Gone or WD-40 and a terrycloth towel that you dont mind gooping up to get most of the residue.

Like Apollo says, follow that with a re-wax and you'll be good to go.

If there is any remains after the first application, a foam applicator and some Meguiars Scratch-X should take care of anything else.

Eh...took me awhile with goo gone... I used a razor blade to kinda trim it down (there is a lot of glue)...just keep picking at it!

I've used WD40 and a plastic scraper.

A plastic scraper won't do any damage. If it does leave anything behind, it could easily be removed with a polish.
