Default S2000 CR interior space vs. base AP1

I believe the only interior difference between the newer CR S2k and an AP1 S2k is the seats and hardtop. Do the cloth seats in the CR take up less room/sit lower or go as far back as the ap1 leather seats? Head room in a cr won't be much of an issue compared to leg room. Are there any tall 6'+ S2000 CR owners out there? Do the cloth seats provide more room than the base s2k seats? Need info, thanks.

Nope. All the same in the leg room department.

At your height, you will probably not be comfortable. I have heard of owners your height dealing with the lack of leg room, but I wouldn't want that.

Material in the seats makes no difference.

I was under the impression ap2/cr door panels were a bit thinner creating more room

You could try lower seat rails and/or racing seats that are thinner--one or both of these could help give you enough room. And wear thin shoes

The data in the S2K Fact List in Under The Hood lists identical leg room for the AP1 and AP2. Interestingly the EPA Passenger Volume is larger for the AP1 by 3 cubic feet, maybe the fancier console and door panels take up more volume??? Honda's press release back in 2004 lists increased shoulder room for the AP2 by 20mm, whoa big improvement.

6'3" in an 04 AP2. FWIW, when I was still searching for my S, my wife and I noticed that an '06 AP2 we test drove felt roomier than the previous 05 and 04 we test drove earlier in the day. I realize that this isn't empirical data but if my wife noticed this a few hours after complaining of how small the previous S2000s were then hey, it's tangible right? )

None at all, same leg room. My suggestion to you is get a Backyard Special seat rail if you have a AP1(I'm not sure if they make rails for AP2)it drops the OEM seat 1" giving you a little more leg room. And if you want more you would have to get Aftermarket seats & seat rails.

Thanks guys you have been some help. As long as an ap2 (cr or base) has same or more room as ap1 I will be good. Especially that it has a hardtop (gain couple inches of headroom) My inseam is about 34"ish and in an ap1 it was close to not being comfortable. I think if I or any other tall family member picks up an s2k (trying to talk my Mom into an s2k cr The backyard special brackets are must have. 1" would be a big improvement.

Well it also depends on your tolerance too. For me, its no big deal, but if you are coming from a big, roomy truck it will take some getting used to...
