My car before this was a twin turbo'ed 350Z and I'm not looking back. If your commute doesn't require you to bring a lot of things in the car, the S2000 is fine.

The only two things I can complain about on the S2000 is one, it is really hard to get N/A power out of the F series motor. And two, space for carrying anything in the trunk when you need to. Other than that, I'm enjoying the S2000 much more than I enjoyed my 350Z (N/A to N/A comparison).

they aren't bad for commuting in IMHO. The biggest downside is lack of space.

used to DD my S before 50mi. back and forth from work per day, and thts just work. usually 3-5 days.

love drivin it with top down. keeps ur cool when ur pissed from work. sometimes my back hurts and also it gets annoying when i get stuck in traffic (on the 10/605 fwy) --constant shifting.

but if it doesn't bother u its all worth it.

IMO (if available) ill use a different car for work instead and save me some miles and just drive the S when ur goin somewhere else. =)

I love commuting in mine. I'm 5'11,180lbs. Athletic and VERY (almost freakishly) good looking. The car has room for me ...and on some days, I can fit my ego.

On a serious note...stock S2000s make perfectly comfy daily drivers. I never wanna get out of mine. It has recaro pole positions and KW coilovers...and I still think it'd be totally fine for a cross country trip.

i think this is true of almost every s2000 owner.
i feel like a billion dollars when i sit down into the driver seat of my s2000
and on good summer nights, throw the top down and cruise

Almost 3 years commuting in an S2000, moving up (over?) from a modded NB Miata. My commute to shortish, but this car is fine. I actually find the ride "plush" (no suspension mods YET). Space is OK, I can still hit the grocery store on the way home and a week's worth of food in the truck.

MPG is off vs. the Miata, however, and this thing does not use "reuglar" gas.

I do an hour of stop and go every day, each way (only 17 miles, ugh). While the constant clutch-in, clutch-out gets old, it sure is nice when you break free from traffic with 9k rpm shifts with the top down. As others have said on here, it really helps you leave the stress of work behind you.

Go for it!

I love daily driving my S. I used to do about 80 miles a day commute for a few years. Best part of the day hahah. I even did round trip from NY to FL 3 times now and not bad at all!!

Seems like a silly idea to buy a sports car knowing you're going to commute.

If you want to do this, you don't need our approval.

Cabin noise is high
It's stick
Ride is firm
Radio is iffy
soft top

I would want this for a DD car
low cabin noise
auto
good radio
hard top

When I used to DD with the S, the commute is often times the highlight of my day.

Don't know if that speaks more towards my job, or the car...
