Yeah, when the sun grabs it the paint looks awesome. I personally love the deep rich bronze you sometimes get

I think there was only 6/7 DBs on the What Colour is your S2000 poll last time I checked.
Aha! "..deep rich bronze.." that explains why it started from yellow! Do you know if it was only made for one year?

Introduced in 06, I heard somewhere (cant remember where) that it was a 1 year run but I think some 08 owners have it so I'm not totally sure on that one.

It was a one-year color - 06. Then Honda started selling the Mauve.

On another note - in 02 Honda had a Gioire model in two special edition colors - one was a dark blue - not sure if it was different from Navy, and the other was Maroon-ish. I don't know either color but the special edition S2000s were Japan only and had chrome side mirrors and six-spoke wheels among other touches.

Question

Hey, thanks for the great post.
I just bought a UK spec 2003 AP1 in Monte Carlo Blue Pearl with paint code B66P, the vin plate confirms 2003 production, but your list suggest this colour stopped in 2002?
Did you ever manage to find how many were produced?

My cheat sheet shows Monte Carlo Blue Pearl B66P as AUS which I assume is Australia, not Austria since the car is RHD. But a RHD car intended for one country could easily been shipped to another.

I sometimes wonder if they painted some cars just to use up some paint "found in the back of the warehouse" intended for another car model, perhaps the NSX which was built in the same factory until the S2000 production moved in 2004.

One-off colors are interesting but not particularly valuable unless you're trying to compete the set of all model years and colors.

Awesome to know Chuck, thanks for the reply.
Any update on the number of cars produced per colour per year?

There's data in the library (here) showing US car colors and interiors by model year. Someone will link it within minutes. I've never found world-wide data.

According to that data I have a "rare" car: 1 of 272. (Yeah, it's 2006 Silverstone with an all Black interior.)

Makes sense but I found the hard way that it does not makes sense for home projects.
