I love it Greg.
Of course there are NO metropolitan areas in some states. I could help "organize" the Montana--Wyoming--North Dakota-South Dakota--Idaho--Alaska group. That should be about half a dozen owners <ssssssssss>...

Greg, I applaud your efforts to set up an international framework for enjoying our favoriate car. It sounds like things are moving along quite well. Having been very active in car clubs most of my life, IMO you may wish you had set up thing geographically different. Cities are very limiting. Being 1.5 hours from both Detroit and Grand Rapids, I do not identify with either. In looking at the cities in Michigan where registered s2ki owners live, most are from a smaller community somewhere else in the state. We all identify with the state we live in; in fact, several states have already started forming groups. With a car of such limited production and sales, cities may make sense if your in LA, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. but elsewhere - I don't think so. When a new prospective member looks at a site map of the USA they should not have to sit and ponder which place, given two or three choice - none of which apply, do I select? Just my opinion.

We have the country broken into regions that the metro groups will fall into. If it makes geoprahical sense to have an area as the chapter then so be it. The general guideline will be that a group has to have 10 members to become a recognized chapter of S2KCA.

S2Ki is the lead dog. All national clubs, which S2KCA is one, will fall under the umbrella of S2Ki. Part of the memberhip fees of S2KCA will go to support S2Ki along with all of the other benefits.

If there are any talented web design folks out there who are willing to help out in getting some design efforts done, let me know. We will need that very soon!
And as for 'affecting' s2ki.com. We are an affiliate of s2ki. We are not in competition, in fact, all of us retain our positions on the board the same as before. S2Ki stays the main S2000 informational site and houses all the national and international sites.

Greg,
I noticed that your list includes the cities of Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson in Arizona. Mesa should definitely be dropped as a goal; it is a large suburb bordering on Phoenix. Downtown Phoenix is 5 minutes from downtown Mesa.
Tucson is only 80 or 90 miles away on I-10. If you don't get a strong argument in favor of separate groups, it might be a good idea to just include them with the Phoenix group under an Arizona label.
My 2 cents,
Tanq
