thanks guys, it is great to read all the posts. Man, I never thought this would turn into such a heated debate. So i am still leaning toward the S2000 and i think i will go with the 06 so i can have VSA.

I respect your post, very honest with yourself. I really dont know what to tell you, you have valid points. I think if your careful with the S, you should be fine.
Even though the Si is more practical, I'm assuming you have no kids, so in a way, I think the S2k would be a decent choice.
Have you considered a newer 06+ S2000 w/VSA and traction control?

Okay... I took my second test drive today. Just spent the last hour at Honda Autoway in Clearwater with the S2000 CR
My ratings are as follows-
Dealer - A+
Salespeople, and manager - A+
Cars looks - A
Steering - A
Ride- A
engine, HP, torque - C
Price- $39,000 out the door (includes sales tax and all ofther fees)
after 1st round of negotiations. I will make up my mind on Friday.
Wife wants the car, but I'm not sure if its got enough pep?

Hmmm, they are allowing test drives of the CR at Autoway now?!? I might have to make a trip over there...
Did you take the car to redline atleast through gears 1-3?

price: $39000 + $4000 comptech S/C kit = all A's
and i like VSA--spent two years in finland driving in the snow, and i find that VSA is great as i can turn it off when i dont want it and i can still let my wife drive the car in the winter without worrying it will end up in a ditch
