I already pay close to $5000 a year for my Audi TT. I guess it doesn't help that I am 24, single and have several speeding tickets and an accident from a few years ago. How much do you think the S2000 will add to my policy? $2000? Don't forget I will only be driving it less than 50% of the year. Would it makes sense to get a low milage policy? One that only lets me drive the car 15,000 miles a year or something?

Thanks in advance.

All I know is a lot of them are being crashed. I have a perfect driving record and my rates on the Honda still went up as its' car classification changed recently.

Since you have an Audi TT, why do you need an S2000?

The part time car policies are also a LOT more restrictive than 15k miles/year. It depends on the dealer but many are 3000 miles or less per year - some even lower. Something else to think about! At any rate it will be MUCH less than the Boxter you're considering.

I'm 26, so I get the over 25 discount... My insurance is about 650 for 6 months...

no tickets, wrecks, decent liability coverage... My 99 Vette targa was cheaper than the S2000 to insure...

That might give you some idea of how they rate it...

oh, btw since you have both cars you'd get a multi-car discount, but for a vehicle to be a pleasure vehicle, they are pretty strict...

My S sees less than 5k a year (since I have a short drive to the park and ride and am a college student trying to finish up). Inspite of that, its still the sole vehicle, and its listed as work/school use...

check with you company... thats the best advice I can give ya

I'm 24 and I pay about the same amount that I paid for my 2000 A4 before I sold it. My premium went up from $850 to $900 for 6 months. Of course insurance in Milwaukee is a lot cheaper than some of the large cities. If you live in a warm climate, sell the TT and get s2000. It's much more fun to drive, although I do miss the quattro..
