S2000 or C32 AMG?
So I know that sounds like a crazy comparison but I'm trying to decide between the two. My last car was an 07 Z4M, had a Lotus Elise before that and a bunch of other stuff. Will post a link to some of the previous cars so you have an idea of where I've been.
I'm looking to spend $10-$15k and will use the car to go work and also fun on weekend. Currently we have a Land Rover Discovery which may or may not also be replaced. So my logic is this:
Option 1
Get S2k which I would mostly drive. Sell the Rover and get wife a Land Cruiser or perhaps an LS400 or something she would enjoy driving a bit more.
Option 2
Get C32 and then get do the same. But then I'd have 2 4 doors and I'd be hoping the C32 is fun enough to double as my toy.
Option 3
Get S2k and then later also add a C32 so both wife AND me can have fun! Course this is a bit more expensive and not really the preference as I'm sure she doesn't want to see us tie up so much in cars since we'd be buying cash.
So I guess I'm down to the fundamental decision of which of these two cars would I rather drive on a regular basis since she would be driving the other. I suppose I also need to consider which would be the most fun for us to go cruisin on weekends too.
Have any of you owned the C32? Btw, I had an 03' S2k and really enjoyed it. Felt like a go-cart and chassis was quite rigid for a droptop!

Man you have had lots of great toys. Might i ask you why did you get rid of them. It seems like they were loads of fun to play with. But i have to say the S is the funest car i have owned. Have not drove a C32 though. But for youre price range not sure if you can pick up a C32 with decent miles

Not a lot of folks looking at AMG cars these days. Gas prices etc means you can get E55 as ell as C32 for under $16k. Regarding why I got rid of them, I suppose I would just want to try something new. Looking back, there were many that I wish I kept - the 993, S2k, NSX (evidenced by getting 3) etc.
I kept the 98 NSX longer than any other car I've ever owned - 3yrs. I'm a bit more settled now and will likely appreciate whatever the next toy a bit longer!

My friend had a C32 and all she had were headaches once the warranty was over. It requires expensive parts for maintenance and wasn't all that fast to me.
IMO, sell the Rover and get the S2K AND a NA2 and go lease a 2010 Camry for your wife for peanuts.
