You answered your own question. Only the fanatics notice. Why would you expect a movie for the masses to kowtow to a tiny group like us?

Interestingly enough, it was a cgi scene. I remember seeing one of those "behind the scenes" things on the making of the movie where they referenced that specific scene (it's a white ap1 fyi) and the scene itself was done on a computer.

 

CGI? That's a relief. I would hate to see one of our beloved S2000 cars smashed up for a movie.

 

My 6 year old son noticed it...although he is quite the gear head. My wife didn't notice even after he mentioned it.

 

Just saw this a few minutes ago. I know this thread is a bit old, but it was the first result when I googled the scene to make sure I wasn't crazy haha.

Looked like a silver S2000, but the tail lights looked kind of "off" - probably a result of the CGI?

 

I take back what I said about the pink S2000 from 2 Fast 2 Furious
