The S2000 amazes me even in storage
After 2.5 months of only seeing my S under a cover I finally got the cover off today and got to check her out. I was very anxious that when I got the cover off she would be covered with scratches and when I took it off I found two small ones on my fender but I was so amazed to see the car and know that it is mine that it didn't bother me. I will be able to buff the scratches out in the spring. I wanted to start her up also so I carefully took my boots off and got in. I had prepared myself for a low or dead battery or for her not to catch right away. I put the key in and BARELY touched the start button and she purred to life and settled right into an idle! She sounded great.
I rinsed her off with some water and I'm soaking the cover inside now. I'm still not happy storing the car outside but I like having it with me on my own property. I found a place to keep her indoors next winter so I just have to get thru the rest of winter.

I've heard that if you have a car in storage, you shouldn't start it unless you're going to drive it. Someone can probably explain this better, but I've always been told this is not a good idea.

hehe, i know what you mean.
once in a while i lift the cover up and see how it is.
makes me happy.
i took it for a spin today actually,
due to that heavy rain new england are had
road salt was somewhat washed away,
i decided to let it run.
... until i got pulled over for speeding... -_-...
the cop guy let me go tho, i was lucky.

Like that "Rain again....." thread, we should maintain a thread for us storage folks! A "sleeping S2000 support group" if you will, to tide us through the winters! We'd be the source of information for those questions regarding battery tenders and such.
I put her under the cover back in mid-Dec, left for a month's vacation, and still had 2 months of storage when I got back. I had to take something out of the car, so I went in the garage and took a look at her... she looks really sleek with a cover on as well, especially the rear 3/4 view!
I unscrewed the antenna for a better cover fit and removed the wipers and battery. Paper towels are stuffed in exhaust pipes and intake to keep mice at bay. My battery's hooked up to a smart charger.
So when do your cars come out of storage? I'm in Germany with a season license plate, so the legal earliest is March 1st... gonna be a good day!
