Depends on your commute. Many DD the S happily, myself included. It is not a particularly quiet or comfortable ride, but I look forward to going work, and coming back everyday.

tighter handling in our car, and its better looking imo.

If you want direct speed and comfortability go with the 370, the s2000 lacks space in the cabin and in the trunk but i think the Z is hideous.

And the extra money u put in a Z you could easily put towards a turbo for the S and smoke a bunch of cars

what do you guys think??????????????????????????
I think you should try to find a much younger s2k 00-'06 with less than 70k miles and you will only pay mid 10's

S2000 looks nicer. The 350Z is faster stock. Everything else is subjective.

What an interesting discussion.

Before recently buying an S2K, I have been driving a 1980 stockish Triumph TR7, an 80 very modified 320+BHP 4.6L Triumph TR8,
a 1995 slightly modified 250 BHP Morgan +8. Now a stock S2K has joined the fleet.

Raw is not a word I would have thought to use to describe the Honda, compared to the rest of my cars it is extremely civilised.
Somewhat heavier, it is more composed than the older cars, but it is the only modern that I have been able to find, after buying & selling a few,
that even comes close to being "sports" car in the old tradition.

I've had the thing almost three weeks now, could any of you please tell me how to get the silly grin of my face.

I was in a similar situation when i bought my S. If you drive them both you will quickly descover that the S is a sports car and the Z is a GT car. I wanted a sports car so I saw the Z as a big fat pig. Plus the ergonomics are horrible in the Z. I blame most of the problems with the Z for sharing its body with the infinity cars that have 2 extra seats in them. In my opinion you might as well just buy one of those. But if you were planning on buying a new Z and liked that car I think you would be better off with a vette. It is still decently sized so you have all the extra room but they are fairly light and much more of a sports car than the Z imo.

As for the S, it is a great car but as many have said, if you sit in it and don't instantly know it is the right car for you then it isn't for you.

You mentioned mods so I think i should address that since I was looking into that also when i bought. The S2k has more potential. some of the parts might be cheaper for the Z but the S excels and is far greater than the Z and almost every other car in every catagory except for power.Power can always be fixed. With the S you have a bullit proof engine and transmission along with low weight and a low center of gravity. You aren't going to need to spend money on things like coil-overs to lower the car or replace any inferior stock parts. You also aren't going to need to modify the engine it's self to hold more power. Many people are pushing 500RWHP with turbo and SC kits that are easy to install and reliable. All you need to hold the power is a new clutch (and a new diff if you plan on launching the car but most people don't bother with it). Once you factor in the weight, with the z you would need much more power to have the same effect not to mention other mods to support it and others to improve other aspects of performance already achieved with a stock S. why use a big brake kit to stop a tank when you can use a conventional set to stop a go kart?
