s2000 or 325ci
Hey guys, my car has been in the shop a couple of times and my parents are gettin fed up because they don't want me to drive a car that is unreliable. So they offer to buy me a brand new car but they want me to get a bmw 325ci. I don't think its a bad idea but i rather buy use and save alot more money. That and i dont think i deserve a new new car yet any ways. I want to spend bout 25g's on a use 325ci manual of course, but then again i also love the s2000. My parents say its the last thing they will ever buy me before they toss me into the world where ppl r dependant upon themselves. It's been bout couple weeks now, and i dont know what to choose. So.. take luxury, more space wit the 325ci or be the cool pre med guy wit an s2k??? what do u guyz think and how did you guys decide??

I had a somewhat similar situation like yours where my parents offered to help pay for a new SUV for my first car. They would not help pay for something that wasn't to their liking. (Was looking at a 2k5 CR-V and 2k5 Freelander) They wanted a practical car for me and didn't want me to get anything coffin-like. So...
I got the s2000 instead.
Why? You only live once (And I love my job). I'll go luxury MAYBE once my teen years are done. I have a whole lifetime to experience owning a luxury car anyways. Doesn't exactly apply with sports cars, where old people have problems driving comfortably.

I've never heard a pre-med spelling like this...
"My parents say its the last thing they will ever buy me before they toss me into the world where ppl r dependant upon themselves. I've never seen a pre-med spelling sentences like. If you want reliability, don't buy the 325ci. If you want something fun to drive, don't buy the 325ci, unless it at least has the sport package (and even then...).
Naturally, nobody on this board is going to suggest the BMW over an S2000. I think you're just looking for the answer you want to hear. I would too. :-)

Actually, I would suggest the BMW. If your an undergrad premed student, this is the best time in your life to make lots of friends and hang out on weekends and any other time your flexible schedule allows. I wouldn't want a car that can only take 1 passenger. I have an s2k now because I have my wifes car, and I dont really drive with anyone other than my wife. Undergrad years are golden, live it up.

What is it with you guys?
How is he going to "learn how to drive" on a Civic, any better than he would on an S2k or a bimmer? That's such a weak response...
And, BTW... Where did he mention that he didn't know how to drive?
