The S as a snow sled
okay guys--- heres the deal. i got my car stolen monday and it is yet to come up. i want to possibly purchase an S to replace it but live in ohio. therefore that means snow and rain. i no longer would have another car to drive in the winter so this car would be a everyday driver. so my question is who on this board drives their S in the winter in the snow. dont think the S02's would grip in the snow, but how would good winter tires work. is this car gonna be all over the place. it seems like everyone has mixed opinions on the topic. the dealers tell me im crazy and others tell me its no big deal so give me the real scoop on the S in the winter and shizzy weather.

Do a search.. There was just a poll/thread about this very topic a week ago or so. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
And yes, the S02s are crap in the snow... get a set of winter wheels/tires.

If your weather is gonna be snow and rain all year long. What's the point of getting a convertible when you're gonna put the top up for most of the time? Get a WRX Sti. It's more practical for your climate and you'll get lots of fun as much as the S2k

I don't agree with people complaining about poor handling in rain and snow. I'm assuming they drive the car like its a sunny day. Change the stock tires and your good to go.

Here's my $.02....
I live in Utah (and by the way ski resorts started opening today) and I drive all year, as it's my only car. I have a set of Enkei's w/snow tires that I got from Discount Tire for less than $800, which is a lot cheaper than having to worry about a beater. This car handles just fine with snow tires. Maybe Xviper will show up with pictures of his S/C'd S2000 in the snow that he drives all year in Alberta.
Whatever you do, don't use the S02's in the winter, they definiately suck in the snow!
