thats correct. it was only offered with the viper 6-speed tranny.
Actually, the crew cab models either came with or could be had with an automatic.

thats is true i forgot about that. but that production model is very rare and because of weight reasons was never pushed from the factory. therefore leaving a bunch of 2 doors who were pretty damn fast

1970 Boss 302 Mustang w/ Hurst 4 speed only. Also could not be purchased with AC or power windows. No power door locks. Radio did have FM. No tape deck/CD. It was pure horse power and handling. There are no cars like that today.

i would have to say an 03-06 evo RS is a fair comparison to that car. it comes stripped down with pretty much nothing just ready for racing.

Did the OP really think the s was the only car to come exclusively in manual form?
what i meant was the entire trim line (i.e., mazdaspeed3 does not count because it is from the mazda 3 line).

its actually quite a class of cars.

In the good old days an automatic transmission was an expensive option.

Today many vehicles aren't even offered in an manual! You can't buy a GM truck or SUV with a manual transmission in 2010.

It took me 6 months to find my Toyota Tacoma because I wanted a V6 5 speed....even with Toyotas only about 20-30% of those I found were manual.

Actually I recently read that cars with real manual transmissions represent only about 9% of all of the cars being produced. And that number is expected to fall over the next few years.
