side skirt? those "skirt" is part of the unibody, you can exactly have them falling apart unless you got a pretty savage scrape.

speed bump kills an S? no, speed bump kills bumpstop riding, over-lowered street driven S

20k trouble free miles, mechanically. I've had some trim pieces that needed replacing, and the soft top is getting adjusted on Monday so it doesn't rattle any more (warranty), but the mechanics have been bulletproof so far.

You can go to any car forum and see the same thing, not every car is perfect, but overall the car is superbly reliable.
... in stock form the car never had a problem.

All, I've got a 2000 Corvette and I had an s2000 before it. If my roommate hadn't wrecked my s2k I'd still be driving it. The LS1 engine is stout and built for power, but the electrical in these Corvette's is garbage. Already had mad problems in only 1 year of ownership, and I don't even beat on it!

Gentlemen. If the Honda S2000 roadster is considered the least trouble free car and most reliable, why do we have 44 pages of problems with the car in "Under The Hood. I really like my S 2000 but I am concerened about what I read in this forum.
You probably find most problems stem from the owner. ie. aftermarket parts installed, driving habits ect. Not saying the car is perfect, but if you leave it stock and don't drive it like you stole it 24-7 it will be a very reliable car. That said w/ the proper aftermarket parts and people installing them that are fully capable as well as excellent tuners the car will still be very reliable.

3 years and 26,000 miles, no warranty work, no trips to the dealer, nothing broken, no oil use ever, nice car and bullitproof, the quality is there. that being said it is a high performance sports car and bound to give some grief, especially if driven hard and put away wet all the time. there will always be lemons as well...but on whole this is an amazing car experience.
