In 6 years I've owned 3 s2k's.My first was a 00' that I owned for 4 years In that time there was a seatbelt recall ( which was warrantied although I never had a problem),spark plug recall ( no problem either, but hey free plugs) and had the clutch TSB done for the buzzing on decelleration ( everybody likes a free clutch).
My 04' was flawless ( 1 year ownership) and my 06' is only 6 months old but seems the best yet, love this car.
Yeah I'd say the S2k is a pretty reliable sports car.

To quote Jeremy Clarkson ... "Its as reliable as a wood burning stove"

In any online forum, you're going to find more people complaining about problems... I'm not going to go into the Under the Hood forum and say I have no problems at all. Not to mention, some people do go into the Under the Hood forums to ask about installing mods and other things completely unrelated to problems or reliability.

In general though Honda makes reliable cars and the S2000 is no different. They're certainly not perfect, but the percentage of problems is fairly low in comparison with other manufacturers.

You should also compare the kind of stuff that goes wrong in a Honda, versus in other cars ...

Hondas generally have lower frequency and severity of issues

I just got back from driving the S 5000 km over the last 3 weeks and it was flawless. People only post when there are issues, and S2Ks are driven harder than the average car and S2K drivers tend not to put up with anything less than perfection. People who drive appliances tend to let things go and then dispose of the car. Those drivers won't bitch about anything b/c they could care less.
