Rubber Plugs underneath car

Rubber Plugs underneath car
Do the rubber plugs under the rocker panels server any purpose?
I seem to be missing one on the passenger side and the hole it covered
is exposed.
Is this something to worry about?
Also I have located where the jacking points are on the car, but I still am confused as to weather the jack rests on the rocker panel or do you place the center of the
jack around the puece of metal that hangs a bit lower then the rest?

The reinforced part (the part that extends) is the part the jack goes to. It should be obvious if you were looking at it.
The body plugs are installed when your car was PDI'd. I don't know why they're there, rumor is their absence from your car will increase observed wind noise.

I don't know if I'm thinking of the same rubber plugs you are, but if so I believe they are there to fill holes which are used to secure the vehicle for transport on a flat bed. I think hooks and chains secure the car from the underside. I don't really know for certain if I'm talking about the same plugs as you are.
