This is simple.
Mobil 1 is PROVEN for ALONG time.
It is Excellent oil, NONE BETTER!!!
EVERYONE that uses it (including myself for 20 years) loves it!
Why put some new oil in your baby and risk it???
And this is just the kind of "word of mouth" money making they hope for!

Mobil 1 the brand has been around for a long time, maybe (it's all relative...). The current formulation has not been around a long time. It's beyond me how anybody could consider it "proven."

Crisco and 3-in-1 have both been around "along time" and they are well-established brands. That, in and of itself, is meaningless. I don't put either of them in my S2000.

Its PROVEN to me!
I have used it for 22 years to be exact and I get 40-50 miles more per tank of fuel as compared to non-synthetic.
My cars also start easier and run smoother.
On my 93 mustang LX 5.0 I got 6 more HP on the dyno just by putting in Mobil 1!!!!
NUFF SAID.

That really doesn't answer my question... I'm just gonna stick with it. Its been great so far.

The Magnetic drain plugs are from Spoon.
road rage stated that from what he's seen royal purple is no better than your average oil.

anyways, here's the oil journals for some good reading. read everything and you'll learn a TON about what oil to use and not use.

valvoline synpower actually looks like a very good choice. (better than mobil 1)

LMFAO.

None better?

Mobil 1's 10W-30 is the weakest, thinnest grade out of them all. There's a reason the F20C is notorious for consuming Mobil 1's 10W-30...it's because it's TOO THIN and practically shears down to a 20 weight before 5k miles.

There's plenty out there better than Mobil 1. You just have to know where to do your research.

I'd put Redline, Amsoil, GC, Synergyn, Lubrication Engineers, Motul, etc in my motor long before Mobil 1.

Sorry to disillusion you, but you HAVE NOT used "it" for 22 years.

There is no "it."

If you say you have used Mobil 1 for 22 years, you have to realize you have only used "whatever is in the flippin plastic bottle that is LABELED Mobil 1."

The stuff that is in the bottle has changed again,

and again,

and again,

and again....

The ONLY thing that has remained the same is the name on the label. It sounds like that label gives you great comfort. That is the ultimate dream of any advertiser.

Ok now you made me go look it up! Here is what our resident oil expert said -"Now, what about the other top synoils? Well, they were not tested here, but certainly the industry giants were. Based on tests I have run or seen from sources I trust in the industry, Red Line, NEO, Motul, and others would likely score in the top quartile of these tests. The tests anmd UOA's I have seen for Royal Purple have never shown it to be other than mid-tier, competitive with the synoil or GIII mineral oils from the major companies.
Here is link if you wanna read the whole thing. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...hl=royal+purple

Yeah he also said "Mobil1 is a good product, mid-tier in all the tests." as well so I guess you be the judge.

I'll stick with RP according to RR its just as good as Mobil 1

But just to save you the trouble your not going to change my mind so don't bother answering this.

Thanks so much for all the post. Since everyone has their own ideas.
But if RP is not good why is rick recommanding it?
I guess i will just look at stats to make my decision than.

But i rick webby is dedicated to S2000, and i have my own perspective that they will choose the best for the car too.

But now with all the post it seems other wise. But i really do appreciate that everyone is giving me information...

Thanks again. And i will welcome more information if there is anyone who can give me.

Thanks..
