This may not be a nice picture to show the roll hoops insides.....
Picture borrowed from another "burn down thread" on S2Ki.

I saw a pic a while back of an upside down S2000 being supported by the roll hoops. (Same incident that was caught on video of the S flying off a twisty CA road and going down the hill...)

On a side note, do most convertibles have roll hoops?
I believe Miata and Solara do not, but not sure about other ones (since some of them, like Mercedes, are suppose to "pop up" when the car rolls over ...

Most convertible versions of standard cars don't have roll protection. Purpose-built roadsters are more likely to have some.

Newer Miatas do, I think. Old ones didn't. Early Z3s didn't, later ones did. M-roadsters did. German cars like the pop-up roll protection.

Personally, I would be a little worried to drive a convertible without the roll hoops.

Very interesting... the Solo 1 sanctioning body is caliming I need to install a roll bar in my s2k to meet CASC requirements (they are also claiming that it has none at all). Is there any documentation which states that it is a functioning roll bar which I can present to them so I don't have to mockup my s2000 just to take it to the track for solo events and lapping days.
