My dent is a half-dollar size dent. So, unless i kill a huge bird, nothing is going to escape that.
In virginia, the law is can't be higher than 3 inches off the top or bottom , and on the side of the driver, and bigger than a quarter.
My dent met the 3 inch rule, but was a tad bigger than a quarter, so they wouldn't repair it, i am going to keep it since i hasn't expanded and will wait until inspection next year...

I just had my windshield replaced today. One crack the size of a quarter and the other the size of a dime but numerous little pits from traveling 95 from Delaware to Baltimore once a week for about 2 years until I moved my Mom to Del. due to her health. I agree it is the inherent design of the windshield and highway travel is especially bad. I stick to local runs only and use the wifes car for long travel. Of course the a--hole truckers who dont cover their gravel loads make it worse. I couldnt believe my new windshield when I went to lunch today in terms of clarity. Thats why I pay insurance.

Got mine fixed on Tuesday. Amazing what they can do now. There is a small line where the crack was that looks like a hair. There is also a small (about 2mm diameter) spot that looks like a bug strike. Much better than a 1inch crack and it's garunteed not to run.
