rock chips on windshield...repairable??
i got a pretty nasty rock chip on my s2000 windshield this evening. the damange did not penetrate the glass, but a little bit of glass was chipped off the surface, plus about a 2-3mm crack that goes about half way deep into the glass. anyway, i was wondering if this type of glass damage is repairable, because i'm afraid that if i leave it alone, the wind pressure when driving at highway speed will over time make the crack worse and wosre...

You must take it into a repair place and they can tell you if it's fixable. Do it as soon as possible. Most cracks from dings get started because of the temperature cycling of the glass, not driving. I've had good luck with Novus.

Your insurance will probably cover it all if you decide to get it repaired. At least thats the way it is here in TX. The rule of thumb for repairing cracks is if it is smaller than a quarter, they can fix it.
By the way, I have a crack the size of a nickel that is bothering the hell out of me.

depending on the pentration of the hole. you can always drive to a windshield repair shop locally and have them tell you (easiest way) make sure you let them know you want the crap to not be visible once the repair is done. tons of places only fill in the crap (which prevents spreading but still looks the same...)
