Default Road Conduct while in the S2000

I have been driving my new S2000 for about a month and I find that other drivers seem to behave quite differently when I am in the S as compared to my other vehicle (SUV). Apart from the many positive looks and head turns that I get there is also more erratic behavior from other drivers.

Couple of examples: If I

I experience the same kind of crap from people.
When merging onto a road or interstate I have people speed up and try to not let me in. This happens also when trying to pass.
I too also have people ride my bumper or flash their high beams at me for no reason when I'm just cruising down the highway.
People cut me off or try to egg me into a race on the street.
I guess it's just the look of the S that get's people all bothered.

It does sound familiar. Not much you can do though.
My manners when driving my S improve. I will go out of my way to let someone in who is exiting a business or give up a prime parking spot to someone else.
Just a part of my attitude when driving this car.
I'm not quite the "good-sport" when driving my Celica. Not that I'm obnoxious or anything, I'm more or less like everyone else.
This is proof to me that we really are influenced by the cars we drive and that others are also influenced by the cars they drive.

I get people who try to tailgate me or instigate for me to pedal down on the gas but instead they get my brake lights. I try my very best to drive like a normal person, doing no more than 10 over the speed limit. I like to promote "leaving it for the autox/track" when possible. But on occassions I'll have some spirited driving when there are no cars around.

In So Cal...you won't get a second look from anyone, this is due to the fact you will see 5-10 s2000's on any given day. Be thankful people still notice you guys in your area

I think its Spring too - in the past week I've gotten yelled at twice (once while I was sitting at a light, the other while I was in a parking lot, parking) and honked at twice while I was driving in my lane. Maybe people are jealous of my top down?

I think that because people notice the car more, they act in reaction to it, either consciously or subconsciously. That includes the pacing - I get this too - where cars just start following you for some reason, or speed up after you pass them. It doesn't happen in my "normal" car, just the S.

As for tailgating, I get that in city traffic, but I think that's just bad driving.

I also get nods and thumbs up, so not everyone out there is a jerk.

A guy in a Nissan Armada tried running me off the road yesterday . Funny thing is that the ricers never give me any crap...they're usually nice people.

SUV owners can be some of the worst on the road.

I pretty much go unharrassed when althought the S does put people's heads on swivel, especially with the top down and HIDs blazing

Unfortunately I can't say about when it is parked

I am in the Sultanate of Oman and all I get is thumbs up, smiles. Amazing. Ladies here drive not so well, so I have been cut off a couple of times, but that happens in my other cars (Jeep Commander, Jeep Cherokee) as well.

I also try to park away from everyone, in the far corner of a parking lot, but amazingly by the time I come back, there are cars parked around it also very far from everyone. Regular cars, though, not other S2000s or Lambos, or whatever. It kind off pisses me off because the reason I park so far is to avoid other cars passengers (especially kids) slamming a door on my S2000.
