Default RJ DeVera's 15.329@92.39mph???

He won the Comp4 at BFGoodrich Tires/NIRA Palmdale...that's not supposed to be a good time is it?

It may not be that bad, for a couple of reasons.

1. Palmdale is at 2600 ft and during the day gets pretty hot. I've only run there a couple of times, but my ET's (fora mid 14 second car at the time) were off by at least 0.5-0.7 seconds. Traps were down at least 3-5 mph too. Take that off RJ's time and suddenly you have a mid 14 at 95-97 mph. Not great, but decent.

2. What kind of class is Comp4? Is it a heads up class, or a bracket class? If its a bracket class, then the ET is meaningless because you want to run the slowest time possible while staying ahead of your opponent. You do that to avoid breaking out by running quicker than your dial in. Sometimes this involves actually hitting the brakes before the finish line.

That's a bad time for the S2000.

I ran a 15.302 @ 92.68mph in (hot and humid) Ennis, Tx in my 5th gen Prelude.

I guess he's more of a show car guy...

BTW, I met him mom (I didn't know it was his mom) at one of those car shows and she was very nice and friendly. We talked for awhile and then in the middle of the conversation, it hit me that she was RJ's mom (after I saw her mini-van).

Comp4 is usually N/A 4 cylinder, muffler, oem transmission.. blah, blah... Of course if you have motor swap or turbo, nos, super charger aren't allowed in this class.

Yes the time is pretty bad.
In Maryland International Raceway, we have Integra Type R capable of running 12.7+ / 117+(that is amazing by the way)
and Neons running high 12-low 13th as well as civics running high 13th.
Pretty much guaranteed that current any stooks can't win in that class but you can easily end up in quick 8 and into the elimination round. I would like to try running again not to win but how better I can do from last time's best of 14sec/102mph
