Right rear noise
I have a 2001 with 37k miles on it. I'm no spring chicken and don't drive the car hard. I have a noise coming out of the right rear that sounds like something is loose. It happens when I back up and stop and sometimes when I go forward say at a light. No noise when I'm moving and shifting. Any ideas? Right now the car is sitting at the Honda dealer and he can't find anything although he does hear the noise.

the noise is similar to the noise the self adjusting brakes use to make when you backed up. I thought might be a wheel bearing but I'm no mechanic.

Honda has a TSB for the rear axle nuts. Symptoms are similar to yours. Honda decided that the nut must be removed, the threads greased and the nut (or new nut) put back on with much highter torque (220).

So is it a clicking sound? If so, here is the thread that goes over the fix.

Well it was the rear axle nuts. It took them till the next day to figure it out. It cost me $95 for something that this forum knew about already. I mentioned it to the manager and he asked what the TSB number was. If anyone knows please post it.
