Yea op used s2000's are retardedly over priced, for the most part. For some reason people seem to think the s2000 was a limited production vehicle. When its actually the opposite, and there will never be a shortage of s2000's or parts. The problem is the older these cars get the less people will have to sell them for. Since banks will only lend so much, and the buyer will have to make up the difference with cash.

Like I said its retarded, since its mostly enthusiasts nickle and diming enthusiasts. Who else cares about this car? It's old news anyways, wayyy old.

Used S2000s are only like 12k-16k for a decent one, unless you are talking about the CR models or ridiculously low mileage ones. That is not much money, you are not talking about a $90k car. I am sure many buyers can purchase a S2000 without having to take out a loan.

Also keep in mind that it's summer and dealers try to hold out for top $$ during the summer. Come November and December you'll see prices start to drop and by February they'll be at fire sale prices.

I'm on my phone or I would privide the link, but do a search for "black book" car prices. You will get a link to cars.com black book. You can research what the sales price of a car should be according to Black Book. If you aren't familiar with Black Book, it's what the majority of used car guys use. You give them a kbb value and they always whip out the ol' Black Book value on you, and it's always lower than you expect. I just did an extra clean '08 S2000 w/ 25,000 miles and got the value $25,350.

That wasn't my experience, but I might be mistaken. I have also been tracking BMW M Roadster prices, even to the point of keeping spreadsheets on available cars. Maybe it was more the case for the M's and not the S2000, but I can't imagine there would be a big difference.

I have a 2006 LBP in great condition I would consider trading you plus cash since I plan on keeping an S2k for a long time, and in ten years my car will probably have too many miles for me... I'm an old guy compared to this group (46), but the car has what I think are great upgrades. I did the clean stereo install (all Alpine plus a small powered compact Kenwood SW-11 subwoofer in the passenger footwell). Modifry wire harness adapters so nothing was cut, dynamat on the doors with Alpine components, Alpine BT-125BT head unit. Modifry cupholder, and modifry soft top elastics. Blue aluminum shift knob, and a K&N filter / intake inside the stock housing. I bought the car about three years ago with 63k on the clock, now at around 84. I got a new catalytic converter and O2 sensors at 79k miles (whew that was close to out of warranty). No curb rash, paint is excellent with some small rock chips on the front. Never wrecked, clean title in hand. New floor mats. To me the car would probably go for around $18-19k, so the difference might be $6-7k if your car were to sell for $25k. Tires are new about 2,000 miles ago. I have lots of pics available. I am in Canton, GA. Email or message me if interested. You could keep the wheels and other upgrades if you want (stereo, etc...). I am just interested in getting a car with less miles that is also LBP!
My car is not a garage "queen", but it always parks in the garage. I don't race it, but I like to drive in the mountains.

Edit: one thing I forgot was that I changed out the seat covers for new black full leather with blue stitching. Matching door inserts. The stock seat leather did not have that good leather smell I enjoyed when I had a Ferrari, so I changed this out. It has a lifetime warranty and looks new (it was done about 8-10k miles ago). Factory stereo, speakers, and shift knob are available, sitting in a drawer in my garage.
