I'd like to know how you get seven foot monitors in your sun visors. I'd like to see that.

The market may seem to be overpriced ONLY if you are a buyer.Sellers aren't complaining.

2 words.

supply and demand…ok, that's 3.

But, that being said, check the prices of Integra Type R's, or unabused Si Civics ('99-'00), or porsche boxster spyders (my personal favourite that is still way out of my price league), or, original Hemi Cuda's (stupid pricing for a stupid car)…well, you get the point.

I feel your pain.

good luck with the search.

I agree some are priced like you mentioned, but I do not believe that is the norm nor do I believe they selling quickly (if at all) at those levels. Dealers have an easier time getting higher prices and even search this site for inventory. But, there's a bunch of sub 20,000 mile cars on autotrader for under $20,000.

Down here in the southeast is seems the market is getting cold for S2k sales. Lots of solid and reasonably priced cars not moving.

What you are probably seeing is that there isn't much of a price difference between a 15k mile and 50k mile car that is bordering on 10 years old. I'd just drive and enjoy the one you have, putting 5k miles a year on it isn't going to completely destroy the resale value. Although they may be reversible, IMO you are already past the point of it being a collector car with the mods and mileage.

Bridge water Acura and Sussex Honda are the reason as well. They have multiple sub 20k mile S2K' s for $33k +. It's ridiculous. I saw a '07 GPW blk/red interior. 19,632 miles. Gonna buy it for $26k. Was asking $29k based on Carnax prices. I was like wtf. So I got lucky and we agreed on $26k. Still high, but for this color combo I'll do it.

Maybe Philly's street conditions are no better than DC's.

I think pricing greatly depends on your location too. I only live one state over, and when I was shopping for mine I had two options with under 50,000 miles both for under $16.5k. Granted I had to drive 3 hours to get the one that I ended up with, but it was still in the general area. There are many owners who list their cars ridiculously high because that's what they see on KBB. But if you show them the NADA values (Edmunds is way too low usually) and explain to them why KBB pricing for specialty cars is unreliable, they will usually entertain a lower offer. Especially if it's been sitting for a while.

If people are buying and selling for the price, then it is not ridiculous. Anything is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. California seems to have the highest prices out of all the states at least in the 48 lower.

Look on eBay motors---there's a 2008 chicane silver with 15,800 miles at a dealer in Roanoke VA asking $24,995 or best offer and a NFR 2006 with 62k miles in NY asking $16,000 or best offer.

Check out the "completed" listings on eBay and you can see what ones have recently sold for------
for example---
a 2008 with 48k miles just sold for $18,800 at a dealer north of Charlotte,
an 08 GPW with 79k sold for $17k,
an 07 SS with 15k miles went for $23k from a dealer in TN,
and a black 01 with 54k just sold a few days ago for $13,200 in NY by a 72 year old man who was the second owner--he bought it in 2006 with 2900 miles on it--looks mint!

I bought my 05 new on eBay from a dealer in Cape Cod and flew up to pick it up (I'm in Ohio). I sold it on eBay to a guy in NJ a few years later when I bought my 07. It's definitely a place to monitor if you're looking for one.
