Default Rick's 7/8 Aero Screen?

With the 7/8 aeroscreen, can I put the convertible top up/down without ever worrying about it touching the aeroscreen or do I need to leave the 7/8 screen vertical to bring the top up/down? Can I get interference with the top if I keep the screen in the lowered position?

Thanks!

Edited to make sure everyone knew Rick is responsive with emails...

Nevermind, Rick did reply on the same day...his email ended up in my "bulk folder". And in case you were curious, his response...

"The screen must always be vertical to put the top up or down. That's true of both sizes.

Rick"

Yup...description on Rick's web site says the same thing. Advantage of the 7/8 screen is you can raise and lower it without interference from the window when the top is up.

If the 7/8 screen is down when you lower the top it will bind on it and often break it off. If you go to raise the top with the 7/8 screen down it will just flip the screen up.

I don't think I've ever left the screen in any other position besides up so I don't think this should be a problem. But I guess it will be one more thing that I will have to have a mental check for. All it will take is one instance where I am not paying attention...but the screen breaking is better than the top breaking.
I was the same way until I installed the 7/8. Afterwards, if you're not top down it gets in the way of viewing and the reflection is annoying. I've only forgotten to put the screen vertical once, but caught it because I noticed the top not going down correctly.

Playing Devil's advocate for the forgetting to put the screen up, I read that worst case scenario is that you break the screen and the edges of the screen rip your softtop.

Ouch. Really? Someone ripped the softop? I hadn't seen that post yet. Now you've got me a little nervous.

Yep gotta keep it up when doing the top.
Great product and fine vendor. Just don't use paper to clean it - it'll scratch it up.

Hello,

does anybody have a copy of the installation instructions for Rick's Aero Screen which you could send me?

Especially, I would like to know where exactly the rubber strips should be glued.
I got basic instructions (via email), but it's not a complete manual and a picture is worth a thousand words.
Thank you very much.
